Things about life I learned from my mother.

Last night I made #7 for the first time in a long time. Matt had never had it before and he thought it was funny that I called it "smash". I started thinking then about other things I learned from my Momma. Here are a few of those valuable life lessons now!

Enjoy!

1.       Chicken with the bone in is the best kind.

2.       Always wear cotton underwear.

3.       Dogs do not belong on the furniture. Furniture is for people… dogs are animals. >> Note: this rule no longer seems to apply in my mother’s house. <<

4.       How to make chocolate chip cookies.

5.       How to fold towels properly.

6.       Open face peanut butter sandwiches always taste better with a smiley face or heart drawn in the center of them.

7.       “Smash” is the same thing as shepard’s pie but with all the components separated….and it’s just as good if not better.

8.       Always say “please” and “thank you”.

9.       Pray

10.   If you plan on trying on shoes in the store you had better be wearing socks.

11.   Red is a good color to have in a kitchen.

12.   A carpet that has vacuum lines in it looks better than one without.

13.   Refrigerators and cars are a pain in the butt to keep clean.

14.   Pay your bills!

15.   Gardening/planting is good for the soul.

16.   No matter how old you get, Mom’s house will always be home.

  1. Great blog, Emily! Had to tell you that we also enjoy "smash" at our house, though I never had a name for it until now!:)
